Fiance(e) K1 Visa Interview Guide

Bring the following documents:

  1. Valid passport

  2. Printed Appointment Confirmation Letter (SAMPLE HERE)

  3. Visa fee receipt

  4. Original birth certificate

  5. Original Certificate of No Marriage Record (CENOMAR) - Philippines

  6. Original Police Clearance (NBI Clearance - Philippines)

  7. Original Police Clearance from other countries for those who worked or lived in other countries for more than six (6) months

  8. Evidences of genuine relationship - pictures together, chat/call/e-mail logs, plane tickets, boarding passes, hotel reservations of visits or vacations

  9. Proof of termination of prior marriage (if any) - divorce decree, annulment document, death certificate

  10. Completely filled out Form I-134, Affidavit of Support by petitioner and supporting documents: most recent income tax return, tax transcript, W2 or any proof of income

  11. Three (3) 2"x2" colored photos with white background

  12. Completed medical exam results



Tips on Interview:

  1. Dress appropriately. You can wear business casual attire or even a nice pair of jeans with a collared shirt. Dress comfortably because you will wait for hours at the US Embassy. Also bring a light jacket or sweater because it is cold inside the embassy.

  2. Arrive on time.

  3. Be yourself. The interview will be mostly about you and your petitioner.

  4. Do not bring any type of electronics in the US Embassy. Leave phones in your car or at home. Even flash drives are being confiscated inside when you go through the metal detector.
